Start with available classes
| What your squad needs | Starting option |
|---|---|
| Frontline choices | Harigittan’s Soldier / Pike or Keroronpa’s Soldier / Bombardier |
| Ranged attacks | Pyokorappa’s Assault / Ranger |
| An ailment-focused start | Mashuma’s Soldier / Ninja |
All eight leaders are selectable at the start. A starting class does not mean you already own every individual in that class.
Recruit Ninja through Mashuma’s Quest Board
| Cobun reward | Objective |
|---|---|
| Enoki | Defeat 3 Son Jammers with Mashuma. |
| Truffe | Defeat 100 minibosses with Mashuma. |
Check the objective and progress on the Quest Board, claim the reward, then choose a recruited unit in SQUAD. These are useful recruitment targets, not a promise that either individual outdamages every other Ninja.
Choose specialists by their skills
- Shu: Toxic Arrow and Torrential Arrow offer poison and area attacks. With the relevant Cobun Set DLC installed, the unit is added on launching the game. In Rataport, go to SQUAD, hover over a Cobun and choose Select Cobun. You still need the base game and a compatible class slot.
- Tankun: Poppin’ Wave provides knockback and Omnishield provides substantial damage reduction. Consider Tankun if already recruited and you need control or protection.
- Kagiyan: area fireworks and an enhanced kickable bomb suit groups of enemies. Consider Kagiyan if already recruited and you need area attacks.
You can use an available Ranger instead of Shu. Tankun’s and Kagiyan’s individual skills are not abilities granted automatically to every unit of their class.
Keep equipment conditions intact
An equipped Big Scruffy Decorune grants CRT +30% with at least three classes, but becomes CRT −30% with only one or two classes. A three-Soldier / three-Ranger / three-Bombardier setup is one nine-slot example when those classes are available to your leader.
Without that Decorune, do not force three classes solely to copy the example. Fill your actual gaps, then spend Dock upgrades where they help most.
